Rockwell Automation Helps Packaging OEMs Increase Machine Performance and Integrate Control System Flexibility

Gevas Technologos, a packaging and processing OEM, recently added a Rockwell Automation Kinetix integrated motion control system to its StarFill Ultra Eco packaging machine, which enables it to provide customers with faster, more reliable systems to meet frequent needs. The assembly line changes, expands or reduces the scale of production to meet the continuously changing design and packaging requirements.

The StarFill Ultra Eco packaging machine is used for packaging diapers and feminine hygiene products. It has an open architecture and functions such as packing, unpacking, stacking and delivery of goods. Rockwell Automation provides an integrated control platform based on the Logix control architecture, equipped with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix controllers and Kinetix 6000 multi-axis servo devices and MP series motors.

When the machine is in automatic mode, the integrated control platform ensures that each axis accurately executes the PCAM, which increases the machine's throughput and improves the quality of the package. With an operating speed of up to 40 bags/minute and an inlet range of up to 800 millimeters, StarFill Ultra Eco packers can handle a wide range of packaging needs.
