Braille is for the visually impaired. The current Braille is represented by the 6-point dot sign created by the French Blair in 1825. Six dots are arranged in different positions to form different dot sign numbers.
Because the blind person reads silently by touching the point number, the dot symbol should be raised so that the blind person can use his finger to touch it. It can be said that the braille words that make up the blind characters are the main means for blind people to obtain text information.
Ordinary printed text opposite to Braille can be referred to as "ink". Different from the Braille printing of ink characters, the ink is projected on the surface of the paper, or unevenness is formed on the paper itself. These problems can be solved by using existing printing technology.
Nowadays, there are not only braille prints for the blind, but also books or pictures for the blind to read with the eyesight.
Braille printing method
1 uplift printing
The most common method is to use silk screen printing to obtain a blunt drawing of blind readings. The specific method is to use a plastic film that is punched with a bit of character hole first to make a stencil plate, and a transparent thermoplastic foaming ink is made from a colored foaming agent and a resin binder, and the method is adopted by using a spray press method. The zinc-iron plate, which is a character hole, is solidified into a certain height of bumps immediately after being ejected onto the paper to form a solid dot text and complete the printing. This print is both wear-resistant and easy to read by touch. It can be said to be a blind reading material suitable for both high-speed processing and mass reproduction.
2 press convex printing
The so-called embossing printing is a method of directly embossing the unevenness on paper or plastic sheet. This is the same as embossing that embosses the embossed pattern on the front cover of the book, but the height of the pattern is different from that of ordinary embossing in order to understand the meaning of the finger. The height of the braille is generally 0.25-0.35mm and the diameter is 1.5mm.
First, use a special Braille plater to press out the concave and convex shapes of two thin zinc foils. Between the two originals, insert a special thick paper for braille printing and then pass through the Braille printer. Pressurization between the rolls, the embossed dots with no ink were pressed on the thick paper. This method is relatively easy to make and print, and is very suitable for touch, so it has become the mainstream processing method for printing blind readings.
3 fixed-mode printing
Fixed-mode printing refers to a printing method in which resin is ejected from a dot-shaped hole to form a braille. First, a special plate-making machine was used to punch out a Braille shaped hole in a zinc plate, and the original Zinc plate was rolled onto a roller. The thick paper was fed into a rotating roller and a hard resin was ejected from the inside of the roller. Printed in Braille, after heat treatment, Braille expansion.
This method can print on both sides of the front and back at the same time. It can print 16 pages at a time. It can print about 20 copies of high-quality prints in a minute, so it is suitable for printing with many pages or a large number of copies.
4 thermoplastic molding
The method of thermoforming refers to using a relief printing plate or the like for making a master (original plate), placing a special sheet made of a synthetic resin thereon, and then softening the sheet with a heating machine to allow it to be adsorbed by the mother. After the sheet is formed into a concave-convex shape as the mother sheet, it is cooled and the printing is completed.
Because of the uniqueness of the method and the ability to obtain subtle performance and bulging levels, it is suitable for graphic applications.
5 stereo imitation
Stereo and ordinary copying are almost the same. First, an original copy image is produced, and then the copy is made on a special copy paper coated with a foaming agent using an ordinary copying machine. Then using a developer capable of projecting special light to illuminate the imitation paper, the light is focused on the black part for heating purposes, and the black part is raised by the action of the foaming agent.
Although this method restricts the toner used for imitation, it can be manufactured lightly, so it is suitable for a requirement of a small number of prints and has a good feel. The disadvantage is that it is difficult to perform delicate parts, and it may be soiled with the toner used for imitation.
The above describes several methods that Braille printing has ever used. Because the printed blind readings are touched many times by hand, the text formed by the dot symbol will wear out and even wear out. In order to improve this situation, the newly-made blind reading book printing machine uses colored synthetic resin to pass through the zinc plate that has been punched out, and then it is sprayed onto the substrate to immediately solidify into bumps to form a strong point sign, which is both wear-resistant and Easy to read by touch.
Bound book binding
After printing according to any of the above-mentioned methods for preparing a book for the blind reader, when binding, a variety of binding methods can be used to bind the layers, and the glue is applied to the spine portion and the cover is made into a braille reading material. Braille book binding methods, as well as ring bindings that are easy to open, are often used for simple staple binding.
