For a bar code printer, the print head is a key component, and the important thing is repeated three times. The print head is important, the print head is important, and the print head is important.
There is a print head in the picture, have you found it?
About the print head
It is made on a ceramic substrate, and the surface is coated with a special protective film, which is very sensitive, so it is strictly forbidden to contact any surface of the print head at any time during normal operation. The printhead and rollers should be cleaned every time a roll of ribbon or a roll of thermal label is printed. This maintains the quality of the print and extends the life of the printhead.
How should such an important part be maintained? Do you need care next to important parts? Here's a look at how to maintain printheads and other parts.
Note: Before maintenance, please make sure to remove your own static electricity. Excessive static electricity will damage the print head. The use environment should meet the product requirements (refer to the product manual or CD-ROM for details).
1, the cleaning of the print head
Turn off the power of the barcode printer, turn the print head up, remove the ribbon, label paper, and wipe the print head with a cotton swab (or cotton cloth) dipped in a little print head cleaning solution (replaceable with 75% medical alcohol). Clean, then gently dry the printhead with a clean cotton swab. Do not use metal objects (such as knives, screwdrivers, etc.) to collide with the print head or touch the print head with your hands.
2, the cleaning of the drum
After cleaning the print head, clean the rollers with a cotton swab (or cotton cloth) soaked in a little 75% alcohol. The method is to scrub the roller while rubbing it by hand, and after it is clean, dry it. The cleaning interval of the above two steps is generally three days. If the printer is used frequently, it is best to do it once a day.
3, the drive system and the inside of the chassis cleaning
Because the general label paper is self-adhesive, the glue is easy to stick to the shaft and channel of the transmission, and dust is added, which directly affects the printing effect, so it needs to be cleaned frequently. Usually twice a week, the method is to scrub the shafts, channels and surfaces of the drive and the dust inside the chassis with a cotton swab (or cotton cloth) soaked in alcohol, clean and dry.
4, sensor cleaning and other considerations
The sensor includes a ribbon sensor and a label sensor (see the instructions for their location). It is usually cleaned once a month to three months by blowing air and foreign matter from the sensor with a blower (sucking the ball).
Power grounding wire: In order to prevent damage to the print head and the machine main board due to excessive accumulation of static electricity and abnormal voltage fluctuations.
The printer cannot be plugged in and out, and hot swapping can easily burn the printer's motherboard. Turn off the power before plugging in or unplugging the data cable.
The daily maintenance of the printer is directly related to the service life of the print head. If the maintenance is not good, it is easy to shorten the life of the print head and even damage the print head and the machine board.
To sum up, the printer is an output device that requires routine maintenance when used frequently. The print head, as a component that is used more frequently, is often cleaned to make it work more comfortable, which is what it should be.
