Removal of PE and EVA film odor additives masterbatch

Ampacet, Inc. of Tarrytom, New York, USA, launched Ampacet 101787, a new additive masterbatch that removes low-density polyethylene (LDPE), linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and ethylene/acetic acid from food and non-food packaging and other applications. The active component of Ampacet 101787 is a high-performance, porous, selective absorbent that absorbs small molecules that cause off-flavors, particularly ammonia-containing and polar compounds. The moderate hydrophobicity of the absorbent makes it possible to remove inorganic compounds and organic compounds in the water. The high surface area adjuvant in the masterbatch absorbs odor compounds that are produced inside and outside the packaging and that are inherent in the resin. The use of this masterbatch includes garbage bags and single/multi-layer food packaging bags to mitigate and control possible odor problems. The masterbatch has high efficacy and low dosage, and the general dosage is 3-5%.
