For many of the analytical challenges faced by researchers in the pre-formulation development phase of pharmaceuticals, especially biopharmaceuticals, viscosity measurement is particularly important. Being able to accurately determine the viscosity early in the development of biological agents plays a key role in reducing the number of failed candidate samples in the subsequent development stage. For precious samples with a very small sample volume, it is particularly difficult to measure according to the formula conditions (usually under high concentration). Conventional viscosity measurement methods often cannot be performed under the above circumstances. In addition to the small sample size, people increasingly need to perform high-throughput multi-parameter automated measurements on the same small sample. This paper introduces the application of ultraviolet region imaging technology in the automatic measurement of the viscosity and molecular size of biological agents and its advantages over traditional technologies.
