Water-based hair gel copolymer developed successfully

Recently, the WACKER Group has introduced a new hybrid polymer for hair styling products. This silicone/vinyl acetate copolymer makes it possible to produce aqueous hair sprays. The hair gel not only has a strong styling property, but also keeps the hair natural. Its products will be unveiled at the European Cosmetics Fair in Paris, France, in April this year.

The new Wacker-Belsil P101 hybrid polymer developed by WACKER mainly contains two components: silicone with inorganic properties and vinyl acetate with organic properties. Before this, people have always considered this to be two irreconcilable attributes. Laboratory studies and batch tests have shown that this hybrid polymer has received a very ideal and balanced test effect, has a strong ability to shape, greatly improves the combability of the hair, and makes the hair silky shiny and smooth.

Unlike traditional hair styling organic polymers, hair sprays using this blend not only have a high water content but also do not form an adhesive film, making it ideal for hair spray formulations. The product can be used to produce aerosols and pump sprays.
