According to experts, wine corks have used traditional cork stoppers for centuries. With the increase of wine production worldwide, natural cork resources are becoming increasingly poor, and high-quality cork stoppers are expensive. Therefore, in mass-consumed wines, a product called “polymer cork” is often used, which uses glue to bind small particles of cork together. The disadvantage of this product is that its sealing performance is not ideal and it is easily damaged and dropped. Chips, splits, breaks. In addition, about 3%-5% of the world's wine is contaminated by cork stoppers, which seriously affects the smell and taste of wine.

From the end of the last century, European and American countries began to develop a recyclable plastic elastomer wine cork to replace natural cork stoppers and improve the packaging quality of wine. At present, about 20% of the world's wines use recycled plastic elastomer stoppers. With the gradual increase of wine production in China, the demand for bottle stoppers has also gradually increased. Tambobao (Ryan) Co., Ltd. introduced the manufacturing technology of recyclable plastic elastomer wine stoppers from abroad in 2006. The products have already begun to be sold in China. Although the proportion of plastic elastomer wine stoppers in the domestic market is still small, experts predict that its advantages of inexpensive and affordable will gradually be accepted by consumers and wine producers.
