Heidelberg PCM
The purpose of Heidelberg PCM is to perfectly coordinate prepress and printing equipment, not only to obtain high-fidelity colors, but also to save customers time, reduce waste and obtain efficient production. Print color management (PCM) includes consulting, standardization, prepress and printing optimization, generation and implementation of ICC color profiles. PCM's target customers are those commercial printers that mainly use color registration for four-color printing. Typical end products in this area include advertising materials (such as books or brochures), commercial office equipment, posters, and magazines.
The PCM team worked with customers to develop a production plan by recommending customers and assisting them in achieving standardization. When the program is implemented in practice, it will optimize the color flow and increase the printing plant's production efficiency. Heidelberg's experts started from the prepress section, and they calibrated the relevant output devices, and used the original color correction to set up the laser imagesetter according to the dot gain rate required for the printed products. So through this kind of printing test that is specially designed to meet customer's special needs, the printing press is optimized under the actual production conditions. In the final step, the color space of the printing equipment and output system through the ICC profile will be measured and integrated into the workflow. This will guarantee the high fidelity of the color from screening, to proofing to printing.
