New polylactic acid toughening agent

U.S. Plastics and Additives Supplier DuPont Co., Ltd. has launched a bio-sourced and biodegradable packaging-specific toughener. The new product is marketed under the trade name DuPont Biomax Strong and is primarily used in combination with plastic materials derived from the fermentation of agricultural by-products such as polylactic acid (PLA). DuPont Biomax Strong can actually increase the toughness and transparency of plastic materials for renewable resources.
