New-generation cartoner Wrapapa WT 60 capable of handling cardboard

The Krones Group has given its Wrapapac series of carton packers a brand new design. The new equipment is quiet in operation, high in operational safety, and the construction design is more ergonomic and fully meets the manufacturer's original goal of optimizing equipment functions. The Wrapapac WT 60 carton packer exhibited at the interpack exhibition can also process cardboard into so-called "Fridgepac" packages at a rate of 60 pulses per minute - a convenient package for refrigerated storage.

Equipment adjustment can be repeated to improve work efficiency

The newly designed Wrapapac carton packer is safe and reliable, eliminating the need to install a mechanically synchronized drive unit that has been widely used. In the past, a central motor was used to transmit power through chains and gears, and now only a separate, disassembled servo motor is required. In addition, the operation and maintenance of the equipment belong to both sides of the machine, and the operating side does not include any driving device. The frame of the machine is designed to be higher than before, which helps the operator to perform operations on the machine. In the same way, the container-oriented guardrail in the machine no longer adopts the upper hanging structure, but is directly installed below, giving the operator complete freedom of operation. In order to increase work efficiency, Krones also optimizes the repeatability of equipment adjustments and shortens the conversion time. The conversion process from one package to another is more reliable and faster.

Continuous operation of cardboard folding process

The redesigned packaging machine can be used to handle cardboard. Compared with corrugated board, the processing of cardboard requires more sophisticated equipment technology. There is a set folding line on the corrugated board, which can be positioned after folding. Thick cardboard requires a continuous folding process to ensure that the shape of the carton is beautiful. With this technology, Wrapapac packers can fold out the fashionable "Fridgepacs" package. This type of packaging is now very popular in some countries in the United States and southern Europe.

The so-called "Fridgepacs" package is made of printed thick cardboard and is a convenient package. This package usually contains two rows of six upright-packaged cans. Consumers store "Fridgepac"-packed drinks in refrigerators. When they need to drink, they can simply remove the cans by tearing the perforations on the front. In countries with large cans, this new type of convenient packaging is all the rage. Due to the high humidity in the refrigerator, the packaging material is not cardboard. At this point, the new Wrapapac packaging machine has long been considered.
