Machines that meet a variety of bagging needs

Market pressures have forced many products to use a variety of package sizes and styles, such as small personal devices, large packages with handles, self-supporting bags, and easy-open and sealed packages to give users convenience.

Bosch launched its SVE2510 QR machine with corner seals on Interpack in April this year. The width of the corners can be set as small as 2mm, which minimizes the use of materials; it can also be set to 8mm according to customer requirements to achieve the best strength.

The SVE2510 QR is a continuously-operating machine capable of producing angular sealed bags while maintaining a very low machine height. The advantage is that it reduces the risk of product damage and is easy to install in existing production lines. This machine can easily switch between corner seal bags and pillow-type, reinforced or stand-up bags, producing up to 80 per minute, 50% higher than an intermittently running machine.

Sandiacrer's Quad Pack made its debut at last year's PPMA show. The Quad Pack's blade width can be adjusted between 4mm and 12mm, while the longitudinal seal tape can be placed anywhere behind the package or with one of the blades. Alternatively, the blades can be placed at two corners of the bag, increasing the rigidity of the front face and having more room.

The current equipment for the production of Sandiacre Quad Pack is an improvement over existing operating machines such as the TG250, TG320 and TG400, or Sandiacre as the standard choice for all new equipment currently available.

Rovema has been equipped with machines for many years to produce its Stabilo Seal fin pouches and offers a wide range of packaging sizes and packaging styles. However, in the past, using a rectangular shaped tube to produce such a package has limited the cross-sectional area required to make the product into a bag.

In order to solve this problem, Rovema has developed a round tube to produce Stabilo bags, which provides the largest cross section for the production of bags of a specified size. The round tube can increase the production speed to the speed that can be achieved by the pillow bag, and at the same time reduce the occurrence of suspension of the product in the filling tube.

Round tubes also have the advantage of packaging powdered products because a larger diameter auger can be used to fill the powder, thereby increasing production speed and reducing product losses.

Two separate areas of fin seal bags can also be produced on the RS20, RS20 by the Italian manufacturer ICA, and in the UK by the Fords Packaging System.

This machine is special because it has two separate areas for the manufacture and filling of packaging bags, thus avoiding the problems caused by the packaging of products in sealed bags. It can also be equipped with RS20 and use "K" at the bottom connection area. The seal brings about the production of very precise standing pouches to prevent the product from infiltrating the overlap at the bottom of the pouch.

Another strong market trend is that bags with re-sealable zippers, using a combination of servo-driven motors, once again allow manufacturers to provide zippers as an add-on to standard machines that are likely to make other styles of packaging.

The Bosch SVK 3600P machine allows customers to choose whether or not to use a resealable zipper according to different packaging styles.

The Bosch Trans - zip applicator prints the zipper profile on the flat film before the bag is formed. The zipper tail is sealed with ultrasonics to improve the quality of the zipper. When using a zipper, the machine's output is 30 to 80 bags per minute.

Sandiacre's new horizontal zipper applicator, which produces 60 packs per minute, is now used on new machines and improved. Its switching time is faster, and the continuous bagging speed can be as high as 160 per minute.
