A. Strengthening New Product Development Our province has taken the lead in introducing and producing BOPP film and BOPET, CPP, OPP, PA, PVDC films in China. However, in recent years, the domestic BOPP film production capacity has exceeded the market demand, so our province has to develop other New, more excellent packaging substrate. Such as: for high temperature, low temperature, cooking, etc., multi-layer co-extruded high barrier performance films and sheets on food packaging; multi-layer co-extruded stretch-wound film for better wrapping performance; Hot-filled, high-temperature resistant PET beverage bottles and PET beer bottles; Synthetic papers for goods labels and bags; Water-soluble films, metallocene films, etc.
B. Urgently to introduce and develop new technologies and high strength;
New Molding Technology, Shaped Hollow, Nano-Plastic Technology, Co-Extrusion Technology and Container Thin Technology; (Degradable Plastic Technology) Applications of Microelectronics, Plasma, Ultrasound, and Infrared Technology in Films and Containers; Masterbatches; Plastics Packaging waste recycling technology and so on.
C. The development of plastic packaging and the strengthening of recycling The simultaneous increase in the share of plastics in various types of packaging has gradually increased. What follows is the recycling of plastic packaging waste. This is an important part of ensuring the sustainable development of plastic packaging. The recycling of plastic waste is a difficult and nuanced work. It is a systematic project that must be adopted. The government has legislated and managed effectively, for example, the sorting of domestic waste that Guangzhou is preparing to implement has laid a good foundation for the recycling of waste plastics. In addition, efforts should be made to increase publicity and education so as to raise the national environmental awareness. The government shall specify the recycling targets and recycling ratios for disposable plastic packaging products, and impose mandatory requirements on production and sellers.
3. Metal Containers Industrial metal containers mainly include steel drums, two-piece aluminum cans, tinned cans (three tin cans), metal caps, can lids, and aluminum foil containers. During the initial period of reform and opening up, beer, beverages, candy, biscuits, and other foods produced in Guangdong Province were known as “Pearl River Water, Guangdong Food” and were once popular in the country. The production of metal containers matching them was also very brilliant. Now, there are 7 aluminum alloy cans production plants in our province, about 100 printed and iron canning plants, about 20 metal caps and cans production plants, 5 metal spray cans production plants, and 200 litre steel drum production plants. Home, about 20 other drum production plants. The technical equipment of the metal container industry in our province is relatively advanced. For example, in the aluminum alloy two-piece can industry, an advanced production line with a can body production capacity of 1600 cans/year and a production line of 2000 cans/can lid are introduced. In the printing and canning industry, 600 cans per minute high-speed automatic resistance welding can production line and seven-color computer printing iron production line, in addition to metal spray cans, crown caps, steel barrels, etc., have advanced automatic production lines. The scale of enterprises in the metal container industry in our province is also growing. There are more than a dozen companies with production value exceeding 100 million yuan.
As the market competition becomes more intense, especially with the loss of advantages in beverages and foods in Guangdong Province, the metal container industry in our province is also experiencing more and more difficulties. For this reason, the adjustment ideas for this industry are:
A. Consolidate and increase the current production capacity of metal containers The current production capacity of metal containers in our province is excessive, so it is not appropriate to launch new production lines in the near future to avoid further deterioration of the situation. Due to the large volume and light weight of metal containers, the sales radius is limited. Under normal circumstances, long-distance transportation is not appropriate. The balance of production and sales of metal containers is solved. The first is to work together with supporting industries (especially the food and beverage industry). Develop marketable products to expand the market share of canned foods. For example, aluminum alloy two-piece cans consume an average of 400 cans per person per year in the United States. They are mainly used for the loading of carbonated beverages such as beer and cola, while China’s current average is only about 4 cans.
B. Development of marketable new products and new technology Tinplate two-piece cans, the cost is lower than the aluminum alloy two-piece cans, but the strength is better, now only one company in Shanghai produces, the annual output is 800 million cans. In addition, in order to expand the market share of tinplate three-piece cans, it is necessary to develop and introduce a full-pot make-up coating technology to improve the corrosion resistance of the three-piece cans. The development of new (eg, salted) canned foods and beverages, such as spray cans, currently produces only two sizes, φ65mm and φ52mm, which have not yet been serialized. This has limited the development of spray products to some extent. In fact, for example, in the pharmaceutical and food industries, spray packaging has certain development prospects, but it is necessary to develop a series of applicable specifications.
C. Development of raw material production base After years of development, the production capacity of tinplate (tin-plated steel sheet) in our province and in China has met the needs. However, as the province with the largest concentration of aluminum alloy two-piece cans in China, the province should consider the preparation of a tank aluminum alloy plate production enterprise (there is no such enterprise in China at present), which can not only solve the problem of raw materials for aluminum alloy two-piece can manufacturing enterprises. Problems, but also through the recycling of two-piece cans and scrap, to solve environmental problems and further reduce the canning cost. Aluminum foil is an important substrate for packaging. It is mainly used for the packaging of tobacco, composite flexible packaging, candy, daily chemicals, pharmaceuticals and other products. At present, the varieties and quality of aluminum foil products in China are difficult to meet the needs of the domestic market, and a large amount of imports are still needed each year. Therefore, our province should also consider the preparation of a high-quality aluminum foil production enterprise to meet various needs. (To be continued)
