InDesign CS
InDesign CS has more impressive new features
1. Workspace indesign cs allows you to save a work panel arrangement in a named workspace (Window> Workspace> Save Workspace), so that it can be opened in the future through menu operations or specified shortcuts. For example, you can save the arrangement of the work panel when processing text as one workspace, and save the arrangement of the work panel when processing images as another workspace. 2. Tool panel: There are several more members in the tool panel, including the push button tool (a finger on the button), which is used to create buttons to perform certain operations in the output PDF file; the newly added Bleed mode at the bottom The Slug mode display option can be used to show or hide the bleed and slug areas on a page; the measurement tool (below the eyedropper tool) is used to measure the distance between two points. 3. Control panel: The newly added control panel can be used for text input, which is similar to the Quark measurement panel. If the graphics frame is selected, he will display positioning, resizing, zooming, and other options. If you select a text frame, a pair of icons that appear on the far left can facilitate you to switch between text and paragraph format control. 4. Control panel parameters: Dock at top, Dock At Bottom, and Float commands in the pop-up menu of the control panel can be used to select where the panel appears. 5. Fixed panel: In the previous version, double-click the label of the panel to fold it. In Indesign CS, as long as you drag the label of the panel to the edge of the screen, you can fold it. In the folding area, you only need to click its label to perform the expansion or folding conversion.
Automatically add table header and footer
When dealing with very long forms, you must really want to automatically add a header or footer to a multi-page form. Using InDesign, when creating a new table (Table> Insert Table), at the beginning and end of the table, define a specific number of rows as the table header and table tail according to your needs. If you want to add these elements to the already created table, you need to define the header or footer rows at the beginning or end of the table, and then select (Table> Convert Rows> To Header or To Footer). InDesign CS will automatically apply the changes you made to the main header and footer to all other headers and footers.
The first word sinks, nesting style
For InDesign, the sinking of the first word of the paragraph in the options is not a new feature-but InDesign CS has added a feature to specify the character style of the first word sinking, and can include the saved in a paragraph style. This greatly speeds up the formatting process of complex paragraphs. No matter when and where you use paragraph style, InDesign will automatically process the text in the paragraph. Below is a small example that preserves the sinking style of the first word.
Create character style
First you need to create the characters in the desired style before you can apply the first word sink or save its style. Using the Character Style Options dialog box, we created two different character styles, called the first word sink style and Run-in style. Note that the Run-in style uses common character spacing, so that you can ensure consistent character spacing between text in different fonts and sizes.
Next, you need to open the Paragraph Style Options dialog box (via the Paragraph Style panel pop-up menu) and find the first word sink and save the style panel. Here, we created a paragraph style called Body Text w / Drop Cap And Run-in. Then select the first word sink style for the first word, and then specify the Run-in style as the saved style and apply it to the first three words in the paragraph.
Apply style
Finally, we can apply this Body Text w / Drop Cap And Run-in style to the paragraph we used for example. Please note that you can also use Drop Caps and Nested Style directly without creating a paragraph style by selecting the style of the first word sinking and saving from the pop-up menu in the paragraph panel.
Edit text
For users who are used to using text environments and do not like the WYSIWYG environment (such as those nasty editors), the new Story Editor can't be better. Just like the editor in PageMaker, InDesign CSr Story Editor (Edit> Edit In Story Editor) displays unformatted text in a splittable window. Any changes you make will automatically appear in your design. However, the same line breaks as the actual design cannot be displayed in the Story Editor, so unless you check the actual design, you cannot directly see how many lines need to be increased or decreased. Story Editor Display options (InDesign> Preferences> Story Editor Display) can choose how text is displayed in the Story Editor window (such as font, size, color, etc.).
Select background objects and character-shaped objects {use the Create Outlines command in the Type menu to create}
Select the extract operation in the Pathfinder panel to subtract the shape of the foreground object from the background object
Quick tips:
Interactive PDF files: You can place movies, sounds, and interactive buttons in your design. When exporting this design with interactive elements to a PDF file, you can choose whether to include these elements in the PDF file. File presets: In the New Document dialog box, you can save specific file settings, including page size, margins, number of columns, and bleed / slug area. MIXED-ink swatches: MIXED-ink swatches refer to inks containing two or more colors. You can create a MIXED-ink swatch, or a set of mixed ink colors (using the Swatches panel pop-up menu). Bleed and slug areas: When you create a new file, you can choose to set the Bleed and slug areas for each page boundary. In addition, through the tool panel, you can also choose whether to display the Bleed and slug areas on the canvas.
Create more complex shapes
If you regard Illustrator as a brother of InDesign, InDesign may always be ranked behind. When considering drawing tools, Illustrator is always in a leading position. But it is worth highlighting that when creating complex shapes, using QuarkXPress's latest Pathfinder panel (Window> Pathfinder) has greatly reduced this distance. You can cut out foreground objects from background objects, combine multiple objects in a shape, create a single path where multiple objects overlap, subtract all objects from the topmost object, or subtract Remove the area where all multiple objects coincide.
Create custom strokes
The previous version of InDesign included a convenient built-in line style, but was unable to create its own style, and QuarkXPress was able to develop its own line style several years ago. So Stroke Styles appeared today.
The Stroke Styles (Window> Stroke) and Control Panel pop-up menus contain Stroke Styles commands. In the Stroke Styles dialog box, you can select the stroke style you want to create (Stripe, Dotted, Dash, etc.) and you can also use it as an underline and strikethrough for text.
GoLive CS
GoLive CS is a network creation component in Adobe Creative Suite. Some features of j GoLive CS below
InDesign package for GoLive
If you want to create an online design of InDesign CS, please use the latest Package For Golive feature of InDesign CS. It uses XML to output the contents of the file to GoLive CS for use. First select (File> Package for GoLive) to package your design, and then open the package in GoLive by (File> Import> From InDesign). A window with a preview InDesign CS file will appear, so you can select the desired text and image objects from the preview window and drag it to the GoLive CS web page.
Smart Object
Smart objects in GoLive CS can allow users to directly process the original files of Photoshop, Illustrator, and PDF in GoLive CS. When you place these files in a GoLive CS web page, GoLive CS creates a new file (smart object). This new file is optimized for the web page and retains the link to the source file. If the source file is modified, this newly created file will also be updated automatically. To create such a smart object, open the object panel (Window> Objects), select the smart object tool (a green square icon), and then click and drag one of the smart object icons (smart PhotoShop, smart Illustrator, smart PDF) to the web page. If you want to specify an image for a smart object, go to the Inspecto panel (Window> Inspector), click the browse icon, and then select an image file. In the Save For Web dialog box that appears, you can define the required settings, such as the format of the file and the size of the image. Please note that any modifications made to the smart object cannot affect the source file.
CSS style
GoLive CS's trademark-the latest CSS Editor allows you to easily create and preview CSS (cascading style forms) without having to deal with complex code. You can apply the required settings for text, font, form, background and margin properties, and be able to see the results of changes in real time.
Version Cue
Version Cue is not a creative tool, but it can effectively process your files.
What is Version Cue?
Unlike other Adobe Creative Suite components, Version Cue is not a tool to trigger your inspiration and increase your creativity. Instead, it is a system-level file management tool used to help individual users and small group users manage their various Creative Suite graphics application files. Simply put, Version Cue helps you save Adobe CS files to a Version Cue workspace-this is a specially designed folder on your Mac. Once Version Cue saves a file to the workspace, you and other users in the workgroup can open it in this workspace, edit the file, and save it as a new version. Since the shared files are stored in the local workgroup disk storage space, there is no need for other expensive servers (Version Cue can also handle conflicts in shared files very well-so you do not need to open Apple File Sharing ).
Workgroup management
What we want to discuss here is the role of Version Cue. If a working group chooses to use Version Cue, you need to use the management tool based on the Version Cue browser to perform the required management tasks. To open this management tool, click the Advanced Administration button in the Version Cue system parameters. The Adobe Version Cue workspace Administration tool can create users, set user permissions, delete old version files, create new projects, and other advanced management tasks, such as modifying Version Cue parameters and exporting projects to another computer .
How to use Version Cue
1. Install and open To install and use Version Cue, select (System Preferences> Adobe Verslon Cue). In the parameter setting panel, adjust the workgroup size and other related options, and then select On in the Version Cue menu to open Version Cue. The location panel allows you to select the folder location where the Version Cue project is stored and the folder location where the project backup is stored. 2. Enable Version Cue To open Version Cue in PhotoShop CS, Illustrator CS, and InDesign CS, select (Preferences> File Handling) (File Handling & Clipboard in Illustrator CS), then check Enable Version Cue. These changed settings will be retained the next time they are used. (In GoLive CS, Version Cue is always enabled). 4. Saving a file to a project If you want to save a file to a Version Cue project, select it in PhotoShop CS, Illustrator CS, or InDesign C (File> Save As), and then click the Version Cue button. Use the file browser menu at the top of the dialog box to locate the folder where the project is located. Your project will be displayed below the menu in the window-double-click the project you just created. Click Save. (In Version Cue, you need to access the Version Cue workspace through Site Manager).
