Coupling the plug: cold drawing technology to clean the plastic residue inside the 3D printing extruder

One fact about the desktop 3D printer is that you need to repair it often, especially its very easy to clog nozzles. To this end, Xiaobian recommends a very useful solution - "cold pull" technology, which was invented by a foreign 3D printing player who used it on many different brands of 3D printers. Got a success. Specifically, this is a method of cleaning the internal residue of the extruder.

But why is there a residue? It turns out that for plastic wire-based extruded 3D printers, the residue is inevitable because of the following:

The hot end of the superheat burns a small amount of plastic and accumulates inside the nozzle

After the wire is produced, there is contamination of foreign matter inside.

The dust falling on the surface of the wire reel is burned and accumulates together.

Inadvertently throwing garbage into the hot end

other reasons

Users will therefore find that 3D printers often have insufficient extrusion: it seems that there is no obvious reason, the extruder is unable to squeeze enough material. If the extruder is pushing the wire and the reel rotates freely at this time, there is only one possible reason: the hot end is clogged.

It is known that the hot end has a natural drawback in terms of structure: the tube connected to the nozzle is larger than the hot end. Therefore, a material suitable for a tube, typically 1.75 mm in diameter, may not be suitable for the nozzle orifice because the nozzle orifice is typically 0.4 mm in diameter. You may start thinking that the solution is to remove the hot end nozzle and clean it, but it can be a bit difficult if there is plastic inside. And to be exact, how do you clean it up? If you have a blocked nozzle in your hand, it may not be easy to clean it up unless you heat it to the point where the plastic can flow.

Another idea might be to use a needle nozzle to remove debris. But this is not a good idea for two reasons. First of all, using any thing to lick the nozzle can cause the hole to deform! It may make the hole larger, making printing more difficult because your slicing program doesn't know how much material to squeeze. Secondly, if you just remove a piece of debris from the nozzle, it will soon clog the nozzle again.

Coupling the plug: cold drawing technology to clean the plastic residue inside the 3D printing extruder

The answer to these questions is the cold-drawing technique, which is actually easier to do than all of the above. Just make sure you have a piece of wire that is inserted into the hot end. When it extends out of the hot end, the wire is cut and left as long as about three hand widths. Heat the extruder to squeeze it out of the nozzle, or at least to this temperature (if it does block it, it may not be able to squeeze out). Then turn off the heat and wait for it to cool. Usually when the hot end is at operating temperature, you are free to pull the wire out. When it is completely cooled, the plastic will solidify and you cannot pull it out.

The trick here is to wait for the temperature to be slightly below the solidification level, at which point you can quickly pull the wire out, at which point it should be mostly solid. The magic is that when it solidifies, it captures the sporadic distribution of debris in the hot end. You pulled it out with the wire! Check what you just pulled out, you may find it is contaminated with black matter, and even some obvious debris. There will be more inside the solid wire.

Cut off this contaminated part and repeat the above process. Heating and cooling the hot end can take you a few minutes, but it's much easier than other methods. You need to repeat as many times as you like. The wire that is finally pulled out will be very clean, which means that the end of the 3D printed wire is clean. Now insert the actual wire into the extruder and replace the wire you used for cleaning. Try to squeeze out some plastic using the machine's control panel and it should work fine.

Players who invented this technology claim that he has used this technology many times, and it almost always works. There was only one case where it failed, and the player had been testing a very bad wooden wire that contained real wood. Needless to say, the nozzle was completely blocked after five minutes of use. The cold drawing technique could not take effect, and finally he had to remove the nozzle and burn it out with a blowtorch.

Handheld Mirror

Do you need any professional hand mirrors? We have many styles about handheld mirrors. We also have many types of makeup mirrors, such as portable mirrors, magnifying glasses, travel mirrors, anti-fog mirrors, smart bathroom mirrors. Handle mirrors are also divided into many styles, different shapes, round lenses or squares, and the shape of the handle, we can also accept the customization of guests. The function is different, with or without lights, there are foldable types. In short, we also accept the design drawings of our guests for mass production. Makeup mirror must be convenient to open and close, so the use of aluminum alloy material will be easier to open and close than the plastic, will not damage the mirror surface, effectively prevent the mirror from crossing off, as for the lamp material can be selected ring frosted light bar, can be 360 ° fill light can also effectively protect the eyes. Outdoor makeup mirror is not convenient and makeup mirror is very portable, suitable for storage in the bag, allowing us to check their grooming anytime and anywhere, so that we can make up makeup in time can also act as a light source for taking photos and makeup repairs.
